The latest community-led kiwi conservation project to join the Kiwi Coast is Whakaangi Landcare Trust.
As Whakaangi are the northern most project on Northlands east coast, this extends the Kiwi Coast to a length of around 175km! Whakaangi Landcare have been protecting kiwi over 2,500ha of scrub and forest on the Hihi peninsula for 18 years.
