The 2022 Northland Kiwi Call Count Survey starts today! While the weather is not looking that great, our upgraded Kiwi Coast Listening App is now live and looking pretty good!
Kiwi Coast’s Listening app has been upgraded with new features to make your kiwi listening better and easier.
For example the app now gives you the ability to map your kiwi as you listen to them – and then correct your data if your estimation of bearing and distance just positioned that kiwi in the wrong spot – like out in the sea!
We are incredibly grateful to the talented crew at Kiwi Sprout for creating these upgrades for us all. Next on their to-do list is creating the ability for you to log in to the Kiwi Coast website to see your data and create kiwi maps. We’ll bring you more news on this once it’s ready.
All registered Kiwi Coast Listening App users will receive a newsletter with step-by-step instructions on how to use the app and the new features.
How to update your app:
On your phone go to Google Play or your Apple Store and press “Update” or “Install”, if it just says “Installed” or “Open” it is likely the mobile app already updated in the background for your phone. If you don’t see the updates you may need to uninstall and reinstall the app using the above links.
If you need more help with the kiwi listening basics, the App or have a query – book in for one of these 45 min training sessions at support@kiwicoast.org.nz:

- Refresher Updates 9am and 1pm
- New Users 10am and 2pm
- Coordinators 11am and 3pm

Otherwise – happy listening, wrap up warm and stay safe out there
