The kiwi release season for 2021 is kicking off with the biggest release of the year!
The Pukenui Trust are delighted to invite you to attend the public release ceremony of kiwi heading to make Pukenui Forest their new home.
The public ceremony is co-hosted by Whangarei Intermediate School and Whangarei Primary School and is a great way to meet some of the new kiwi from Motuora Island just prior to being released.
The event starts off at 1.30pm at Whangarei Intermediate School, near the back fields.
All are invited, feel free to share with your networks, BYO water bottle. Please, no dogs allowed.
There are a few children’s activities planned alongside educational opportunities, the naming of the birds, and at approximately 2.30pm, those that want to, can follow to Karanui Estate off 3 Mile Bush Road and be part of the actual release team.
