The Northland Regional Council Weeds Workshops are back for 2026!
If you’re a keen gardener, part of a community or restoration group, or a contractor, these free workshops are for you. Join pest plant experts to learn how to identify Northland’s worst weeds, understand how they spread, and discover the best ways to control them. You’ll also get plenty of hands-on learning and useful resources to take away.

Workshop locations:
- KaitaiaĀ – Te Ahu Centre, Corner of State Highway 1 and Matthews Avenue
- KerikeriĀ – St John Kerikeri Ambulance Station, 357 Kerikeri Road
- KaikoheĀ – Kaikohe Memorial Hall, 13 Memorial Avenue
- WhangÄreiĀ – Barge Park Showgrounds, 474 Maunu Road
- MangawhaiĀ – Mangawhai Domain, 75 Moir Street
- RaweneĀ – Rawene Community Hall, 9 Parnell Street.
Workshops run for three hours with morning and afternoon tea provided.
Workshops are limited to a maximum of 30 or 40 participants. If your preferred workshop is fully booked, please select an alternative session, or emailĀ weeds@nrc.govt.nzĀ to be contacted if a space becomes available.
